Welcome Back Fresh Milk Readers,
Chocolate Milk commits to always finding new tips in helping to promote a healthy and relaxing sleep for your baby. Good sleep allows babies and Parents to live in a much more “Stress Free” life and enviroment.
Some babies sleep through the night earlier than others, if your baby is one of these, you are truly Blessed, but if your baby is not, then perhaps some of these simple tips may help:

. Use a gentle Chamomille cleanser during a warm bath, Dim the lights, a little lavender is nice too (it’s very soothing)
. A Chamomille lotion will add the soft soothing scent to baby allowing every breath to be a relaxing one and acts as a lubricant which allows you to give your baby a gentle body massage.( Think about how it feels when you get a body massage…come to think of it… when was your last body massage?)
· Make sure your baby has a clean diaper (simple, but important!)
· Dress baby in a light sleep outfit and put baby into LullaBag or Sleep Sak. (Get yourself and baby into a routine “sleep mode” Don’t play or socialize too much around bedtime It stimulates and gets your baby ready for Playtime)
· Make sure the lights are low (a Twilight Turtle or Twilight LadyBug is perfect mood lighting) it is now quiet for baby’s last feeding of the day.
· After feeding and burping, take them straight to bed.
.If baby cries during the night try the following (in order) before
feeding again:
Wait 5-10 minutes to see if your baby calms down on their own (learn your baby’s language, remember you are both learning New languages)
Talk softly to him or her (turn their Sleep Sheep on, for that Shhhhh white Noise remember for 9 months this is what they heard, now they are just a little fish out of water,do not be afraid of the volume you want them to hear it)
Rub their bellies clockwise (could be a little left over gas bubble floating around in there, this soft kneading will help to dislodge and you should hear it out of either end soon)
Change his or her position
See if he or she will suck on their little hand or fingers to calm themselves down
Check to see if they need to be changed (very possible)
As a last resort pick them up and talk to him or her in low shhhhh’s to calm and then try again.
Only if none of these things work should you feed them again before morning.
This helps to get your baby on a more predictable schedule.

Remember, all babies are different and some will sleep better than others at an early age. Try a number of techniques to see what works best for you and your baby.
